To Stop Armageddon.

We live in very dangerous times, what with the corporate world decimating the environment to the point of human extinction, Then we have the American imperialists surrounding China with missile bases, and NATO moving missiles ever closer to the Russian border, threatening a war of unimaginable destruction. To top this insanity, we have the psychopaths Pompeo and Bolton trying hard to engineer support for an attack on Iran. All this sabre rattling by the nuclear armed imperialists brings the possibility of a nuclear war ever closer and the strong possibility of a nuclear Armageddon bring about the extinction of the human species quicker than the environmental disaster that awaits us down the road a piece.
All the more reason to pay homage to that band of dedicated and courageous people who have kept alive for more than 30 years, the world's longest running peace camp. The anti-nuclear peace camp at Faslane, The Faslane Peace Camp. They don't get much in the way of good publicity from our imperialist supporting millionaire owned media, but they have kept the protests against these weapons in the public eye, and lots of them have felt the harsh fist of the state's minders, the judicial system.
At Spirit of Revolt we are proud to be the custodians of the Faslane Peace Camp Archive, to get a little more insight to this important and necessary endeavour, visit their collection at https://spiritofrevolt.info/faslane-peace-camp-collection/ Perhaps this will encourage you to pay the camp a visit, and support it in what ever way you can.
Spirit of Revolt would also like to appeal to present and ex Faslane Peace Camp campers to contact us about any material relating to the activities of the Camp they might have, with a thought to depositing it with Spirit of Revolt to help create a fuller picture of this magnificent campaign. You can get in touch with us at:  info@spiritofrevolt.info

UK- Military State.

The creeping militarisation of our society keeps slithering forward, sometimes they find an excuse, some “terrorist “ event, sometimes it just happens out of the blue. This is the case at the Rosneath peninsular near Glasgow. The area is home to that abomination at Faslane, the Trident nuclear submarine base, and the nuclear weapons store at Coulport. These two weapons of mass destruction sites are policed by the MOD armed military police, who are not under the jurisdiction of the Scottish government, but the MOD in London. They have just announced that they will be widening their sphere of influence, and notifying the local population to expect to see them in a wider role in and around their area. There seems to have been no consultation with Police Scotland, but it has simple been announced as a fête-accompli, a like it or lump it, you’re getting it, attitude. They have announced that they will be doing spot checks, and stopping, at random, cars in certain areas.
The area is one of beauty, visited by thousands from around the central belt of Scotland and further afield, it is an area visited by thousands of tourists, but the MOD armed military police have asked locals to report anybody they see taking photos anywhere near these two, danger to humanity sites. So if you are sitting with your family at the edge of the Gare Loch, on a fine sunny day, and you decide to take a photo, beware, you could receive a visit from your friendly armed MOD military police. Should we be worried? Well as our lords and masters spout venom at certain states claiming they are not democracies, but despot regimes controlled by the military, yet sit silent when we see the expansion of military control over ever more of our civil society, I think the time for worry is over, and it is time to display your righteous anger.
We here in the UK are a country that has been involved in overseas military adventures more or less continuously since the end of the second world war, and we are allowing our society to become more and more, a military controlled entity. When MOD armed military police patrol our streets and do spot checks, the façade has fallen, the gloves are off, the state is sowing its true colours. Gone are the pretences that the civilian police are there to protect us from the bad locals, and the military to protect as from those nasty foreigners overseas. It is simply all about control of the civilian population, to repress dissent, to intimidate those who object to injustices perpetrated by the state. Do you really want armed to the teeth, armed MOD military police swaggering through our streets, when out for a drive with your kids, do you really want to be pulled over by armed MOD military police? The decision is yours, if this is a democracy!!

Anti-Trident Protests.

For others who didn't know about the July 16th. Protest against Trident, it was happening across this country, mainly in the Glasgow and Clyde area, where these weapons are situated. These are not defensive weapons, all we have to do is remember Hiroshima, one bomb, and a city with its inhabitants incinerated, civilians, men, women and children.

Published on July 16, 2016
As the 'British' Parliament prepare to 'debate' the renewal of the trident missile weapons system based at the Gareloch in west of Scotland, concerned citizens throughout the country express their dissent. This is Dumbarton, 15 minutes from the base which houses these weapons of mass destruction. The 'debate' takes place on Monday 18 July and although all but one of Scotland's MPs will vote against it, there is no doubt that the Tory Government and its Red Tory cohorts in the so-called Labour Party will vote to impose this horror on Scotland and its people. Shameful affront to democracy.

Planting Seeds.

Saturday July 16th. saw demonstrations across the country against the abomination that is the Trident nuclear weapon system. Glasgow held its protest against these weapons of mass destruction at the Donald Dewar statue, at the top of Buchanan Street. The usual colourful array of banners, posters and leaflets were on display, Greens, Unions, anti-detention, refugees welcome, anti-austerity, Communist Party and various socialist groups. Alas I didn't see any anarchist presence, I did chat to two anarchist in the crowd, but no leaflets, no papers, no literature of any sort.
I always feel these events are ideal places to put out our ideas, these are people who have a gripe with the system, people who are prepared to stand up and protests against what they see as a wrong. If we don't put our ideas on their table, then when they are looking for answers, they wont pick up ours. At these events it is not just the committed that you can make contact with, but the general public, the passers-by, the curious, it is a most fertile ground to plant your seeds. We should be there, putting our ideas out there with the myriad of material that surfaces at these events. We have to meet other's ideas with our ideas when ever and where ever they surface. After all it is the ordinary people that we have to reach, those on the street.

THE PROPAGANDISTS.

When the hordes run with their flaming torches,
When they light the torch of freedom
Burning all injustices
Scorching all hypocrisies
Making a bonfire of poverty
Throwing dogma, patriotism and religion on the flames,
I’ll be there, among them with my box of matches.

Troops To Libya, Replace Trident- We Have Lots Of Money!!!

Why isn't there thousands on the streets of our country? Our psychopathic imperialist lords and masters, scheming in the corridors of power in that edifice to imperialism, The Westminster Houses of Hypocrisy and Corruption, are now deliberating whether to send 1,000 British troops into Libya. Having bulldozed the will of the people and started bombing Syria, they now want more blood. Having failed to get the compliant government they wanted in Libya after they bombed it back to the stone age, they want another crack at it. They want to implant some sort of submissive regime that will do their bidding and allow them trouble free access to Libya's rich oil fields.
There will be no thought of the blood that will flow, both British young men and women, and innocents in Libya, the action will be whitewashed and delivered with smoke and mirrors, as helping the people of Libya. Their country is already a disaster area, which we helped to bring about, the last thing the people of that country want is a bunch of armed to the hilt, foreign troops blasting their way through their towns and cities, what's left of them.
This from Stop The War:
Get involved with Stop the War where you are
The establishment's appetite for yet more war hasn't subsided. Despite the catastrophic failure of military interventions in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, which are ongoing, the UK elites are now also considering whether they might be able to bomb Libya again.
The anti-war movement continues to be a vital democratic force and a thorn in the side of the pro-war establishment. There is going to be a series of Stop the War events on the "war on terror" and on Trident across the country. Get involved where you are.

Stop Trident demonstration - 27th February, Central London

Despite what the pro-war media are telling us, polls show that the majority of the population opposes Trident renewal. An organised anti-war response can continue to seriously influence the debate.

You can get involved in the following ways:

Replacing and maintaining Trident may cost us £183 billion. It would be far more useful to humanity if these gigantic resources were instead invested in cancer research (for example). Instead of producing weapons of mass destruction, we could use this money to save millions of lives.

Trident: Time To Move On.

Most politicians will try to keep Trident and weapons of mass destruction of the agenda for the present Crooks and Liars competition, the general election, as it is sometimes called. However it should be shouted from the rooftops, and continually shoved in their faces, these weapons are unnecessary, illegal, immoral and are weapons against the civilian population, destroying cities in one fell swoop. On the financial side, they drain resources from social projects, billions of pounds being squandered on these mad men's status symbols. This is the 100 years anniversary of the 1915 rent strikes, then, practically ever window had a sticker, stating "We are Not Paying". Wouldn't it be great to use that same principle and cover our cities and towns windows with stickers saying, "We Will Not Have Trident", making sure each of the Crooks and Liars in the competition gets the message.
From Move On Trident:

Trident: Time to Move On has launched!

Some of you may have seen the letter in the Observer on Sunday -

Together with a piece by Daniel Boffey the establishment of our website - including two promotional videos - and the petition hosted by 38 degrees, we are all systems go.

Please do share the links - especially the petition - with your networks now as every single signature will count over the next three weeks as we attempt to demonstrate to politicians and the mainstream media that any complacency around this issue is sorely misplaced.

We are still collecting high profile names to keep extending the list already committed here, so any further help with that will be much appreciated.
